Women's Empowerment Project


This is a project I started years ago. (I am sure because I wanted to find these answers for myself.) I ask each woman 3 questions:

  • When do you feel most beautiful?
  • When do you feel most authentically yourself?
  • When do you feel most powerful?

And based on their answers, we create a photo shoot around it. I tell them to wear as much or as little make up as they want. To wear their hair or whatever clothes make them feel those things. And I do very little editing outside of brightness and general color correction. Being photographed can be empowering. Seeing yourself through the lens of others can be empowering.
